We zijn een dagje naar het Xcaret park (natuurpark) geweest, ligt direct naast het resort, er is zelfs een ingang naar het park en gaat door een tunneltje.

We zijn zwemmend door een ondergrondse rivier gezwommen, dit is echt een aanrader, je moet wel kunnen zwemmen, op sommige plaatsen is het best diep, op weer andere plekken komt het daglicht door de begroeiing heen.

Het kan er druk zijn, kijk goed naar de bewoners van de volières en andere plekken, er loopt meer rond dan je denkt, het koraalrifaquarium en het vlinderpaviljoen.

Het muralisme is een vorm van muurschilderkunst, ontstaan na de Mexicaanse Revolutie. Bekende muralisten zijn Diego Rivera, David Alfaro Siqueiros en José Clemente Orozco. De Muralisten waren vaak politiek geïnspireerd en probeerden de idealen van de Mexicaanse Revolutie over te brengen aan de bevolking. Een andere bekende schilder uit dezelfde periode is Frida Kahlo.

Mexico is verder bekend wegens zijn traditie van volkskunst, die is voortgekomen uit een combinatie tussen inheemse en Spaanse traditie. Bekend zijn onder andere het aardewerk uit Oaxaca, handwerkfiguren uit Tomala en sarapes uit Saltillo.

Tussen de Spaanse verovering en het begin van de 20e eeuw was de Mexicaanse kunst veelal een nabootsing van de Europese tradities. Na de Mexicaanse Revolutie leidde een nieuwe generatie kunstenaars een nieuwe nationale kunstbeweging in, waarin politieke, historische en volksthema's in verwerkt werden.

Muralism is a form of mural art that originated after the Mexican Revolution. Well-known muralists are Diego Rivera, David Alfaro Siqueiros, and José Clemente Orozco. The Muralists were often politically inspired and tried to convey the ideals of the Mexican Revolution to the population. Another famous painter from the same period is Frida Kahlo.

Mexico is further known for its folk-art tradition, which emerged from a combination of indigenous and Spanish tradition. Well-known are pottery from Oaxaca, handicraft figures from Tomala and sarapes from Saltillo.

Between the Spanish conquest and the beginning of the 20th century, Mexican art was often an imitation of European traditions. After the Mexican Revolution, a new generation of artists initiated a new national art movement, incorporating political, historical, and folk themes.
